School of Communication Engineering successfully held the National University Student Electronic Design Competition of Information Technology Frontier Special Invitational and won the highest award

   From September 10th to 14th, the 2020 National University Student Electronic Design Competition Information Technology Frontier Topic Invitational (Renesas Cup) was successfully held in our school. The theme of this competition is Agility, Mutual Recognition, and Interconnection. The competition aims to achieve rapid and accurate image/voice recognition technology through the acquisition and processing of physical information, and the coordinated operation of various subsystems to reflect future life.


     Supported by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, this competition is sponsored by the National University Student Electronic Design Competition Organizing Committee, undertaken by Hangzhou Electronic Technology University and Xi’an Jiaotong University, and co-organized by Renesas Electronics (China). 369 undergraduate students from 123 teams from 69 universities across the country participated. Due to the outbreak of the epidemic, a total of 71 teams from 43 universities participated in the final work cloud review. More than 20 members of the National University Student Electronic Design Competition Organizing Committee and electronic information experts from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, etc. came to our school to participate in the review of this work. Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Guan Xiaohong of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Zhao Xianli, former vice president of Beijing Institute of Technology, Wang Weigu, director of Renesas Electronics (China), and Xu Jiangrong, vice president of our school, came to the site for guidance.


    This competition produced 6 first prizes, 11 second prizes, and 26 third prizes. The results of the review are being announced. Two teams from our school which were invited to participate both won awards. Among them, the team composed of Huang Chongjun, Chen Junyu, and Ye Luna under the guidance of Professor Gao Mingyu of the School of Electronic Information won the highest award of this competition-the Renesas Cup. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Guo Chunsheng of the School of Communication Engineering, the team composed of Sun Wei, Bu Weiyi and Xu Tingting won the third prize.
