  At 9 pm on March 16, the School of Communication Engineering held a video seminar for students from Hubei. The Party Committee of the School listened to the students' experiences and feelings during the epidemicand learned about the students' online learning situation. Luo Meihua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy, He Yali, Deputy Secretary, and Sun Minhong, Deputy Dean, delivered the school's concerns and condolences to everyone. All counsellors and 19 Hubei students had attended the meeting.

 

    The college's party committee and the students had a video meeting.  During the meeting, students from Hubei had reported their current location, physical, living condition, safety, and online learning situations to the college. A new student to the school, raised some problems, such as an intensive study of communication courses, no WiFi at home, and large data expenses for online courses. Besides, graduate student Wang complained that it is hard to run programs using the laptop at home effectively. Most of the seniors and third-year students generally raised problems with the internship and job-hunting.

 

     The college's party committee listened carefully and answered to all students' questions and faced difficulties. Also, Luo Meihua suggested everyone do personal protection while going out and psychological self-regulation. She said that she would discuss the complicated issues that the students faced and provide students with guidance and assistance for whom was transferred to majors this semester. She focused on inquiring about the online courses of the first year post-graduate students and the employment problem of the third-year post-graduate students. He Liya suggested using electronic teaching materials effectively and providing extra funding for the cost of using the internet and other issues based on the students' family difficulties. Sun Minhong gave practical and operational suggestions to the questions raised by the post-graduate students, encouraging students to contact their supervisors. For questions about running programs, Sun Minhong suggested that these students should contact supervisors to arrange the remote operation on the college's server.


    Finally, Luo Meihua introduced the progress and follow-up arrangements of the college's work during the epidemic prevention. At present, the overall situation of the domestic epidemic is promising. She hoped that the students would continue to work hard and look forward to meeting on the campus.
